Pumpkin cookies

Old-fashioned Soft Pumpkin Cookies

2 1/2 cups white wheat flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. ground cinnamon
1/2 tsp. ground nutmeg
1/2 tsp. salt
1 1/2 cups sugar
1/2 cup butter, softened
1 cup pumpkin
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla

Blend the butter and sugar together. Beat in pumpkin, egg, and vanilla until smooth. Add dry ingredients. Drop onto parchment paper lined baking sheets.
Heat oven to 350. Bake for 12-15 minutes. Cool on baking sheet for two minutes.

While the cookies are baking make a glaze.
A friend who heard it from a friend told me about the glaze.

Then - this is my favorite part.
Before the cookies have cooled dip them in the glaze. Then let them cool on a wire rack.

Glaze

3 Tbsp. butter
3 Tbsp. milk
1/2 cup brown sugar
powdered sugar

Boil butter, milk, and brown sugar for 2 minutes. Pour into bowl and add powdered sugar. Blend together until you get the consistency you like. I like it thin.

So good!!
